Absorber Workspace Menus#
Type of Menus#
Menus are one of two types:
- Hand menu
A menu that is attached to your hand when you look at your palm and will disappear when your hand is turned or out of sight. This menu allows you quick access to the most common operations.
- Panel menu
Panel menu follows you in a comfortable distance and allows the use of both your hands or simultanious manipulation of the map.
Tip
To pin a panel, click on the pin icon located in its top right corner
To move a panel, grab it from the white bar on the top middle of the menu
To close a panel, click the X on the top right corner
Floating Keyboard#
Whenever you click inside a textbox, a keyboard will appear allowing you to type, the keyboard handles like a Panel Menu
Main Menu#
To open the main menu, look at your palm, the menu will appear beside it.

There are 4 sub-menus: Map Tools, Assets, Simulation and Settings
Map Tools#
Main Menu ‣ Map Tools

Navigation Panel#
Main Menu ‣ Map Tools ‣ Navigation
The navigation panel automatically opens in the Favorites Tab, you can switch to the Address Tab by clicking the Address button on the left side.
Favorites Tab#
Click the arrow to the right of the name to open the favorites drop down box then click a name to jump to that location. open the save menu to save current location and fill in a name for it. Click the “Delete Selected” button to choose favorites to delete from the list.
Address Tab#
Note: internet connection required for this feature
Click the textbox and start typing to search for an address. Absorber will automatically suggest locations based on popularity and distance.
Geopoint Tab#
Click the and type in the lattitude and longitude to jump to a point.
Layer Selection Panel#
Main Menu ‣ Map Tools ‣ Layers

Layers can be displayed and hidden using the checkboxes.
Paint Panel#
Main Menu ‣ Map Tools ‣ Paint

Move the color slider to select a color and the line thickness slider to change brush thickness. To paint a line, just pinch to strat painting in 3d and let go to stop. To erase, click the erase button and pinch a drawn line.
Assets#
Main Menu ‣ Assets
- Add
To add an asset, simply grab it and put it in the requiered location.
Attention
Assets are only deployable within the map bounds
Tip
Using the slider on the right, you can spawn human assets with numbers for representing unites before grabbing them.
Tip
The Measurement Tape asset located in Misc allows you to measure 3D distance in the workspace, add it to the map and drag its ends to the two points you want to measure distances.
- Move
To move or rotate an asset, grab it from its label.
- Delete
To delete an asset, grab and drop it outside the map bounds. For the measuring tape, drop one of its ends outside the map to delete it.
- Delete All
You can delete ALL assets by clicking the trash can button on the bottom right of the assets panel.
Caution
Clicking and confirming “delete” will delete assets everywhere.
Simulation#

Settings#
Main Menu ‣ Settings

- Snapshot
Take a snapshot of your field of view.
Tip
Snapshots are stored in the Windows/Pictures folder

Save/Load menu#
- Save/Load
Save current map layout or load a previous one
Click “save” and type in the name to save current map layout Select a map layout from the list and click “Load” to load it Clicke Delete to delete the selected map layout

Advanced Settings#

Advanced Settings menu#

- HandJoint
Turn on/off hand joints
- HandMesh
Turn on/off hand mesh
- QRAlign
Use QR alignment for co-location (default)
- ManualAlign
Use manual alignment for co-location (see Alignment options)
- Profiler
Show application load (CPU/GPU/RAM)
Alignment options#

Align Visual with QR Alignment#
QR Alignment#
QR Alignment is on by default
Look at the QR code from ~0.5-1m away, the Align visual will appear floating near the QR code to indicate a successful alignment
If QR Alignment is not on, you can activate it by going to Main Menu ‣ Settings ‣ Advanced and click “QR Align”
Manual alignment#
Attention
Manual alignment will inevitably result in sub-optimal alignment and should be performed only when its impossible to use QR Alignment
Activate manual alignment by going to Main Menu ‣ Settings ‣ Advanced and click “Manual Align”. Alignment widget will appear for all users in the room around the map
Grab and place the widget in a fixed position that all participants agree upon
Grab and turn the blue stick with “N” to a direction that all participants agree upon
Repeat steps 2 and 3 for all participants in the room
